How does it feel to teach English in Entikong?

Dear readers wherever you are. I am aan Indonesian that has several list of work to do in order to improve my English. It is nice to share many things on this page  and I hope you would leave comments down below when you notice grammatical mistke, or so

Here’s my story.

I am an English teacher in Entikong (The border of Indonesia and Malaysia located in Borneo). I teach roughly 200 students. Being an English teacher that never go abroad is quite difficult for. Furthermore, English is  second languaage in Entikong which has students from both countries and varies culture. There are ups and downs when you teach in remoted area. My English might not be as good as it supposed but I have better knowledge  compore to others to essentially teach English here.

It has been a year since I start teaching English at Entikong. The level of pressure has changed ever since, for example, I have to handle 40 students in 80 minutes and it has gone beyond my imaginator. The method that I use to approach the student’s interest in English are varies, from manual approach and digital approach with the help the media such as educational movies, songs, theatrical, and so on. The method do not work effectively because my students assume that English is not an important subject or they might not need it for daily life conversation. In their opinion, English is all about rembering words, vocabulary rather than practical substancial. I personally refuse to call this either a begining not ending but the process of learning. I believe that we need to learn in many ways and different forms and that as a teacher. We should be creative and thing outside the box.

As the conclusion, in order to be a good teacher, the development of various approach to students should be updated as current as possible and suitable in your teaching style.
